Advocacy

The American Alliance of Museums works to unite the country’s museums from art museums to zoos. The Alliance helps museums tell our story and promotes a deeper understanding of museums with policymakers, the press and the public.

Act Now: Urge Senators to Support the Office of Museum Services

After a record-breaking 183 signatures on the U.S. House of Representatives' letter calling for robust funding for the Office of Museum Services (OMS) at the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS), U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) is now circulating a companion letter to her Senate colleagues in support of OMS funding.

Urge your Senators to sign the Office of Museum Services letter today.

Record Support in the House of Representatives for Museum Funding

Museum advocates have once again risen to the challenge and built a strong foundation of support. In March, a record 183 U.S. Representatives joined a letter calling for robust funding for the Office of Museum Services (OMS) at the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS).

Learn more about this and Fiscal Year 2018 omnibus funding in our recent Alliance Advocacy Alert.
